Netflix has announced that it will stream The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity TV anime series weekly in the U.S. and “more regions” outside of Japan starting September 7, 2025. The announcement was made during the company’s panel at Anime Expo 2025, where a new English-subtitled clip was also revealed.
The weekly release will include an English dub. Anime News Network also confirmed with Netflix that the series is listed in some Southeast Asian countries as premiering on the streaming service on July 13, 2025.
Additionally, clean versions of the anime’s opening and ending sequences were also released on Aniplex Japan’s YouTube channel.
The anime first premiered in Japan on July 5, 2025 and is expected to air 13 episodes.
Miyuki Kuroki (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform) is directing the anime series, with Satoshi Yamaguchi (When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace character designer) as associate director, Rino Yamazaki (UniteUp!) as series screenwriter, Haruka Tsuzuki (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform Episode 12 co-storyboarder and director) as series unit director, Kohei Tokuoka (Miraiiro no Fuukei CM) as character designer and chief animation director, and Moeki Harada as music composer. CloverWorks is in charge of the animation production.

The anime is based on the manga by Saka Mikami, which debuted in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket on October 20, 2021 and has released 17 tankobon volumes as of June 2025. An 18th volume will be released in Japan on August 7, 2025. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English.
The manga was a finalist in the Shonen category of 47th and 48th Kodansha Manga Award.
