A new rainy season visual has been released for the Skip and Loafer TV anime series, showcasing Yuzuki and Makoto making teru teru bozu dolls in a classroom. The first 12-episode season aired April 4, 2023 to June 20, 2023, with a second season announced last December.
The new visual was drawn by first season character designer and co-chief animation director Manami Umeshita. It can be downloaded as a mobile wallpaper and social media icon on the anime’s official website, along with several other visuals and characters from the show.
The staff for the upcoming second season include Kotomi Deai (returning) as director and co-series screenwriter, Yoko Yonaiyama (A Sign of Affection, Season 1 co-writer) as co-series screenwriter, Mio Fujishima (returning) as sub-character designer, Yuko Kobari (returning) as color designer, So Senoo (Healer Girl, Season 1 background art chief) as background art director, and Kazuto Izumida (returning) as compositing director. P.A Works is once again in charge of the animation production after working on the first season.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

The anime adaptation is based on the slice of life romance manga by Misaki Takamatsu, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon on August 25, 2018. Eleven tankobon volumes have been released as of December 2024, with a 12th volume set to be released on August 22, 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English for North America.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the first season of Skip and Loafer, describing the main synopsis as:
Iwakura Mitsumi graduated from a small middle school in the countryside and entered a top-tier high school in Tokyo at the head of the class. This child prodigy, who moved to Tokyo alone with a perfect life plan, is smart and gets good grades… but her social understanding isn’t quite on the same wavelength as others. This means that she sometimes makes mistakes, but her easygoing nature sways her classmates little by little, and all their different personalities are coming together before they know it.
They meet and gradually come to know each other, and before long they understand each other well. Everyone experiences pent-up feelings and frustrations, but it is our friends who give us a chance at mutual understanding. This story may start out with some discord, but it becomes a happy school-life comedy before you know it!
