A new key visual and four more voice cast members have been unveiled for the upcoming Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love TV anime series. The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan in January 2027.
The four additional cast members include:
- • Haruki Ishiya as Danjuro Iwata
- • Takuma Nagatsuka as Masato Nakatani
- • Hiiro Ishibashi as Chikai Matsumoto
- • Yu Wakui as Rena Yamakawa
They join a previously announced voice cast that consist of Riko Akechi as the titular Isshiki Rinna Milford and Shuichiro Umeda as Meishi Rokutanda.
Kazuya Komai (Akine no Konai Kaikin hi, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad and Texhnolyze Episode 15 storyboard artist and director) is directing the anime series, with Deko Akao (May I Ask for One Final Thing?) as series composer and Shohei Hamaguchi (Glamorous Heroes) as character designer. Sakura Create is handling the animation production.
The romantic comedy manga series by Ayune Araragi began serialization in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine on June 26, 2020. Ten tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of May 2026. Its Japanese title is Isshiki-san wa Koi o Shiritai.
The manga was initially published under the title Rinna-keibu wa Kokyu ga Dekinai between 2016 to 2017.
Yen Press licensed the Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love manga and describes the synopsis as:
The straitlaced and serious police inspector Isshiki has earned the respect of everyone around her, but lately, she hasn’t quite been herself at work. Whenever her coworker Rokutanda is around, she gets flustered and slips up! Having no experience with such complicated feelings, Isshiki decides to enter a pseudo-relationship with Rokutanda and figure out what this love thing is all about!
