A trailer and visual for SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44:CLOUDY BEACH, the theatrical follow-up to the Winter 2026 season’s SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, have been released. Both materials highlight the players and island setting of the titular Cloudy Beach death game, while the trailer shows the escape nature of the game being complicated by the presence of a killer.
SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44:CLOUDY BEACH will be screened theatrically for two weeks in Japan starting July 10.
SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table is based on the MF Bunko J light novel series written by Yushi Ukai and illustrated by Nekometaru. The Studio Deen-produced anime sees protagonist Yuki participating in myriad death games as a career, and aiming to clear 99 of them. An official guide book for the show was announced along with the new CLOUD BEACH trailer and visual and will be out on July 24 in Japan.

The returning staff for CLOUDY BEACH includes director Sota Ueno (Days With My Step Sister), series composer Rintaro Ikeda (Insomniacs After School), and character designer Eri Osada (Blade and Soul co-character designer and co-chief animation director, Suicide Squad ISEKAI director).
Meanwhile, the voice cast features Chiyuki Miura as Yuki, Yume Miyamoto as Airi, Anna Nagase as Essay, Yukari Tamura as Koyomi, Konomi Inagaki as Hizumi, Aino Shimada as Maguma, Riko Akechi as Mitsuba, and Hikaru Tono as Mozuku.
The SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table light novel series began in November 2022 and has nine volumes as of January 2026. It placed first in the New Work category of the This Light Novel is Amazing! 2024 ranking and has a manga by Banzai Kotobuki Dai Enkai.
Yen Press describes the books’ synopsis as such:
Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. This is the Ghost House, and the only way they can survive is to make it through the traps that lie in wait-deadly games full of blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and weapons.
