A TV anime adaptation of The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore (Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techo) mystery novels will begin airing in 2027. SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary and The Perfect Insider‘s Mamoru Kanbe is directing at CloverWorks.

A teaser trailer and teaser visual provide a taste of the show’s vibes. The story features a secondhand bookstore managed by Shioriko Shinokawa, who is voiced in the anime by Riko Akechi. Shioriko is shy but passionate about books, and decipher the mysteries and secrets associated with one.

Co-starring alongside Akechi is Shunsuke Takeuchi as Goura Daisuke, who has a misleadingly tough appearance and is unable to read books due to a certain incident. Meanwhile, other staff credits include Ayako Kurata as assistant director, Toshiya Oono (SHOSHIMIN, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2) as series composer, Jun Nakai (Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files {Rail Zeppelin} Grace note) as character designer and chief animation director, and Takahiro Obata (SHOSHIMIN) as music composer.

The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore novels are written by En Mikami and published under KADOKAWA’s Media Works Bunko label/imprint. The series began in 2011 with Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techo ~Shioriko-san to Fushigi na Kyakujintachi~ and initially focused on Shioriko. After seven Shioriko novels, 2018 saw the release of Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techo ~Tobirako to Fushigi na Kyakujintachi~, with Tobirako being the name of Shioriko’s daughter, and subsequent volumes have featured Tobirako’s name in their subtitles. The fifth Tobirako book will be released on April 24, 2026 in Japan.

The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore has inspired a few manga, a TV drama series, and a live-action film. An anime film was announced with the live-action movie in 2017..
