The 2024 light novel Kyokai no Melody, which is getting its second volume on November 25, 2025 in Japan, will be adapted into a TV anime.
Kyokai no Melody‘s first volume told a tale of overcoming grief, a process that begins after main protagonist Kyosuke suddenly encounters the ghost of his deceased bandmate, Kai. It marked the debut of idol and talent Toshiya Miyata (the voice of Cardfight Vanguard DivineZ‘s Akina Myodo) as an author and featured illustrations from LAM.
Like the voice drama, the anime’s cast will include Kento Ito as Kyosuke Tsurumaki, Daisuke Sakuma as Kai Amano, Yuma Uchida as Takeshi, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Makoto, and Soma Saito as Minoru. KING RECORDS is involved with the production.
The book was published in May 2024 under KADOKAWA’s Media Works Bunko label. It has inspired a manga adaptation drawn by Ikura Sugimoto.
Kyokai no Melody also placed first in the bunko category of the Tsugi ni Kuru Light Novel Taisho 2024 award.
Update: Added voice cast details.
