Discotek Media announced during its panel at this year’s Otakon that it has licensed several new anime series, and will also be releasing more Blu-ray releases for many classic series. Many of the newly announced titles do not currently have release dates, as of the time of writing.
Here are the details on the upcoming new licenses and home video releases:
Shin Chan
- • All 78 episodes of the Funimation adapted English dub.
- • Includes a collection of extras, closed captions for every episode.
- • Widescreen encodes for the widescreen episodes.
Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro
- • Includes a brand new English dub featuring Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Michelle Ruff, Lex Lang, and Doug Erholtz.
- • A steelbook Blu-ray release exclusively available at the Crunchyroll store.
- • Japanese audio tracks with English subtitles.
- • Various extras that include the 1980s theatrical subs, liner notes and galleries, trailers, interviews, commentary, and storyboards.
Urotsukidoji: Sequels of the Overfiend
- • Sequels of the Overfiend includes:
- ○ Urotsukidoji 2- Movie & 2 OVA version
- ○ Urotsukidoji 3- Movie & 4 OVA version
- ○ Urotsukidoji 4- Movie & 3 OVA version
- ○ Lord of Chaos Theater V2- Recap Movie
- ○ Urotsukidoji 5- 1 OVA
- • The release also includes the existing dubs for movies 2, 3, and 4.
Monster
- • Monster will be coming to Blu-ray in 2026.
- • The entire series will be available in HD, including both Japanese subbed and English dubbed versions.
Golden Boy
- • All six OVA episodes are Japanese subbed and English dubbed on Blu-ray.
- • Features a new commentary with Doug Smith, the voice of Kintaro, who also did graphic design for the new release.
Zegapain
- • 26 total episodes that will be released in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub.
- • Includes the prequel film Zegapain ADP in Japanese audio with English subtitles.
- • Additional bonus features included on an extra disc.
Zegapain STA
- • Brand new feature film sequel from 2024 in the Zegapain franchise.
- • Will include Japanese audio with English subtitles.
- • Zegapain STA will be included as part of the Zegapain Complete Collection set.
Sgt. Frog: The Movies
- • The five theatrical films are coming to Blu-ray in HD in Japanese audio with English subtitles with 5.1 and 2.0 audio.
- • The releases includes the following anime films:
- ○ Cho Gekijoban Keroro Gunso
- ○ Cho Gekijoban Keroro Gunso 2: Shinkai no Princess de Arimasu!
- ○ Cho Gekijoban Keroro Gunso 3: Keroro Tai Keroro – Tenku Daikessen de Arimasu!
- ○ Cho Gekijoban Keroro Gunso Gekishin Dragon Warriors de Arimasu!
- ○ Cho Gekijo-ban Keroro Gunso Tanjo! Kyukyoku Keroro Kiseki no Jikujima de Arimasu!!
Digimon the Movies Collection 2
- • Digimon the Movies Collection 2 includes:
- ○ Digimon Adventure 02: Revenge of Diaboromon
- ○ Digimon Tamers: Battle of Adventurers
- ○ Digimon Tamers: Runaway Locomon
- • Subbed dubbed in HD with bonus features such as promos and TV spots
Mega Man (1994 TV Series)
- • All 27 episodes of the classic 90s video game-based series.
- • Extras include: Pitch Pilot, press kit, commercials, galleries, and a brand new commentary with Mega Man voice actor Ian James Corlett.
Project Arms
- • All 52 episodes of the series will be available in Japanese audio with English subtitles and VIZ Media English dub.
- • Standard edition Blu-ray release.
- • Extra features TBD.
Higurashi Kai & Higurashi Rei
- • Higurashi When They Cry: Kai and Higurashi When They Cry: Rei will each get their own releases.
- • Both releases will include “heavily improved subtitles” and better video quality.
Zone of the Enders
- • The Blu-ray will include the prequel OVA Idolo and the TV series Dolores, I.
- • Includes the both English subbed and ADV Films English dubbed versions.
- • Extras TBD.
Shin Aim for the Ace
- • The 1978 remake of the 1973 Aim for the Ace TV anime series.
- • All 24 episodes are being subtitled and released in the U.S. for the first time.
