Dark Horse Comics announced that it will be releasing the first English print volume of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS prequel manga series, starting in February 2026.
The print release, in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED and the publisher’s Dark Horse Manga imprint, will be published in a 5.125 inch x 7.25 inch paperback volume. It will be available in bookstores on February 24, 2026 and comic shops on February 25, 2026.
The manga is written by CD Projekt Red’s Bartosz Sztybor, who worked on the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime’s screenplay, while artist Asano drew the illustrations, having previously worked on the BNA: Brand New Animal anime series. Stefan Kielbasiewicz will be translating the manga into English, while Brendon Hull is lettering the series.
Dark Horse also announced that an exclusive, limited single-issue comic-style edition of the manga (which will be published under the title Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS Chapter 1) will be available for purchase at Anime Expo and San Diego Comic-Con this July. It will be a 40-page, 7 inch by 10 inch, right-to-left-oriented comic that is adorned with a bright neon cover.
Only 2,500 copies of the limited edition comic will be sold and are priced at US$25.00. It will be available first from CD PROJEKT RED at its booth location in South Hall 325 during Anime Expo 2025. At San Diego Comic-Con, the exclusive comic will be sold at Dark Horse Comics booth (#2615). The limited edition comic is limited to five copies per person, per day.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS began serialization on KADOKAWA’s Comic Alive+ website on December 13, 2024.
Dark Horse describes the main synopsis of the manga series as:
Rebecca grows up with her big brother Pilar as they pursue their shared dream of becoming a legendary edgerunner like their father. In the megalopolis of Night City, where obsessions with technology, violence, and power run rampant, they struggle, suffer, and cause chaos wherever they go! As they go about their daily lives, a mysterious man appears before them—changing the trajectory of their future. In this manga, a prequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, siblings Rebecca and Pilar’s lives are full of madness as they rush through Night City to prove themselves as edgerunners!
