Crunchyroll has announced that it will premiere the Lord of Mysteries Chinese donghua animated series globally on June 28, 2025. It will debut the series’ first two episodes on that date and will be part of its Summer 2025 simulcast lineup

The company will stream Lord of Mysteries in the following countries and territories: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Oceania, Middle East, North Africa, Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.

The company also confirmed the production of multi-language dubbed versions, including English, that will be released later in the future.

In addition, the donghua’s official Twitter/X account announced that the series will also be available on Tencent Video, Muse, and “more platforms launching soon.”

The donghua series is produced by Tencent Video and Yuewen, with B.CMAY PICTURES in charge of the animation production.

The series adapts the original Chinese webnovel Guimi Zhi Zhu, written by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving. It was serialized on the Qidian website on April 1, 2018 until its conclusion on May 1, 2020. The webnovel version was later published digitally in English as Lord of Mysteries by Webnovel, while the print version has been licensed and released in English by Yen Press.

The web novel was later published in print in China from May 1, 2020 to August 1, 2023. A mobile RPG game of the same name is currently in development.

Crunchyroll describes the main premise of Lord of Mysteries as:

In a Victorian world of steam, dreadnoughts, and occult horrors, Zhou Mingrui awakens as Klein Moretti. He walks a razor’s edge between light and darkness, entangled with warring Churches. This is the legend of unlimited potential…and unspeakable danger.
