Crunchyroll has announced a new distribution deal with YouTube Primetime Channels, which will be slated to launch sometime before the end of 2024 in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
YouTube Primetime Channels allows viewers to subscribe and watch content from multiple streaming services directly on the YouTube app. Crunchyroll will be joining over 45 channels available on YouTube Primetime Channels.
The new distribution deal further expands Crunchyroll’s reach and accessibility for its expansive anime library, which features more than 2000 titles and 50,000 episodes.
Crunchyroll’s parent company, Crunchyroll, LLC, is an independently operated joint venture between U.S.-based Sony Pictures Entertainment and Japan’s Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan Inc., which are both subsidiaries of Tokyo-based Sony Group.
