Shortly after the broadcast of its final episode, it has been announced that the Mission: Yozakura Family TV anime adaptation will be receiving a second season. A 30-second announcement video was also released to confirm the second season’s production.
The 27th and final episode of Mission: Yozakura Family aired on October 6, 2024. The series first premiered in Japan on April 7, 2024 and ran for two cours.
Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, Sasaki and Peeps) is the director and screenwriter for the anime, with Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Koji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers. SILVER LINK is handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

- • Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi Yozakura
- • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kyoichiro Yozakura
- • Akari Kito as Futaba Yozakura
- • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shinzou Yozakura
- • Aoi Yuki as Shion Yozakura
- • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kengo Yozakura and Goliath
- • Yumi Uchiyama as Nao Yozakura
The anime is based on the action comedy manga series by Hitsuji Gondaira, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 26, 2019. Twenty-six tankobon have been released as of October 4, 2024.
The anime is streaming as a Hulu Original title in the United States, while Disney+ is streaming the series in other select territories outside Japan. The series also streams on Prime Video and Netflix in Japan.
VIZ Media releases the Mission: Yozakura Family manga in English, and describes the main synopsis as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her — and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
