“Lucky,” the latest song from the Pokémon Music Collective project, has received an anime music video directed and storyboarded by Your Lie in April and Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop‘s Kyohei Ishiguro.

In the CONTRAIL and MAPPA-produced video, we follow two childhood friends and their Pokémon as they continue to hang out together and have Pokémon battles with each other across many years. Huang Chieh (“I Wanna Be Your Ghost”) designed the characters with co-operation from Namiko Torii (Pokémon: Paldean Winds co-sub character designer) and also worked as image board artist and chief animation director.

Other staff who worked on “Lucky” include Chieko Nakamura (Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence) as art director, Masumi Otsuka (The Klutzy Witch: Fuuka and the Witch of Darkness) as color designer, and Haruka Juta as compositing director.

The song, which is performed by Nulbarich and Sunny with UMI as featured artist, is now available digitally in Japan.
