Flag Pictures and Aniplex have announced that an anime film adaptation of the novel trapezium will premiere in Japan on May 10, 2024.
A teaser visual and short 30-second teaser trailer for the film were also released.

The 2016 trapezium novel is written by former Nogizaka46 idol member Kazumi Takayama, who was featured in a special video message posted by Aniplex commenting on the anime film adaptation.
The film is directed by Masahiro Shinohara (Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom assistant director), with Kouji Masunari (Blue Period chief director) as the film’s supervisor, Yuuko Kakihara (Buddy Daddies, Blue Orchestra) as screenwriter, Rio (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Doom of Dragon`s Sanctuary) as character designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Mashle) as music composer. CloverWorks is handling the film’s animation production.
Voice actress Asaki Yuikawa is also voicing the film’s protagonist Yuu Azuma.
Japanese music group MAISONdes will also be performing the film’s main theme song, which was shortly previewed in the trailer.
Takayama’s novel was serialized in Kadokawa Media Factory’s Da Vinci book and news magazine between 2016 to 2018. Kadokawa released the novel in print in November 2018.

The story follows the 10 years of Yu Higashi — a young high school girl who aims to be an idol. To reach her goals, she sets four strict rules for herself: avoid social media, have no boyfriends, don’t stand out in school, and she make friends with pretty girls from all over Japan.
