Aniplex has announced that an original feature length anime film titled Fureru. will premiere in Japanese theaters sometime in Fall 2024. CloverWorks will be the main animation production company.
A teaser visual for the film was released, showing three walking boys carrying a mysterious fluffy creature in a bucket. A short 30-second PV trailer was also posted.
The Fureru. anime film reunites staff members of the creative collective Super Peace Busters, which features Tatsuyuki Nagai (A Certain Scientific Railgun T) as director, Mari Okada (Maboroshi, Dragon Pilot: Hisone & Masotan) as screenwriter, and Masayoshi Tanaka (Suzume, 22/7) as character designer.
All three previously worked on Anohana, The Anthem of the Heart, and Her Blue Sky.
The film takes place in modern Tokyo and centers on three young men who are childhood friends who encounter a strange creature.
