The production team for Kaiju No.8 has released its second ‘KAIJU HYAKKEI’ (or Kaiju Showcase) visual, featuring kaiju slaying prodigy Kikoru Shinomiya. The anime series is scheduled to premiere in April 2024.
A new Kaiju Showcase visual will be released at the end of every month leading up to the series’ premiere. The first one was released last month.

Production I.G is the animation production studio for the anime, while Studio Khara is credited with the kaiju supervision, design, and artwork.
Meanwhile, the voice cast includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, and Wataru Katou as Reno Ichikawa.
The anime is based on the manga series by Naoya Matsumoto, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine on July 3, 2020. The series is published under the Jump Comics label and has released 10 tankoubon volumes as of August 2023.
A four-chapter side-story light novel written by Keiji Ando and illustrated by Matsumoto himself was also released on November 4, 2022.

VIZ Media releases the Kaiju No.8 manga in English and describes the story as:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
