The production team for the upcoming Kaiju No.8 anime series has unveiled a new “KAIJU HYAKKEI” (or “Kaiju Showcase”) visual, leading up to the show’s premiere sometime in April 2024. A new visual spotlighting the anime’s kaiju will be released at the end of every month.
The first visual shows a group, clad in white protective gear, washing down a monstrous green kaiju on the street.

Production I.G is the animation production studio for the anime series, while Studio Khara is credited with the kaiju supervision, design, and artwork.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, and Wataru Katou as Reno Ichikawa.
The anime is based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine on July 3, 2020. The series is published under the Jump Comics label and has released 10 tankoubon volumes as of August 2023.
A four-chapter side-story light novel written by Keiji Ando and illustrated by Matsumoto himself was also released on November 4, 2022.

VIZ Media releases the Kaiju No.8 manga series in English and describes it as:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
