A third season of Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World has been announced with a teaser visual.
Like Season 2, it is a Studio Palette and SILVER LINK co-production with direction and series composition by Yuki Inaba (KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World) and character designs by Kaori Yoshikawa (KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World).
The reveals first came from the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2026 Online event.
Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjo, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen) is an adaptation of the light novels written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe. Yen Press describes the books’ synopsis as such:
For years, a great war has raged on between the scientifically advanced Empire and a paradise of witches known as the Nebulis Sovereignty. This age-old battle sets the scene for a fateful encounter between two young combatants: an imperial swordsman, Iska, and the witch princess, Aliceliese. As sworn enemies, they vow to cut each other down in order to unite their worlds, and yet Iska finds himself entranced by her beauty and righteousness, while Aliceliese is moved by his strength and resolve. In the midst of a never-ending war that forbids them from being together, they have no choice but to destroy each other—or can they find another way?
The light novel series, published under KADOKAWA’s Fantasia Bunko imprint, began in 2017 and has 16 main volumes as of October 2024. The anime’s first season, which was directed by Mirai Minato and Shin Ōnuma and produced by SILVER LINK, debuted in 2020. Season 2 started airing in 2024 following a delay from 2023, only to be postponed again after four episodes. The second season eventually restarted its broadcast from Episode 1 in April 2025.
The light novels have a manga adaptation that released its seventh and last tankoubon volume in 2021.
