4-koma manga Null Meta, about an android named Kurumi and her guardian Chiaki, is getting a 2027 TV anime directed by Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2‘s Kai Ikarashi and produced by Soigne.
Created by Kokamumo, Null Meta began running in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara MAX in March 2020 and has six volumes as of January 2026. It was a special guest serialization prior to its regular run.
Besides Ikarashi, whose other credits include Cyberpunk Edgerunners Episode 6 (storyboard artist and animation director et al.) and Tengoku Daimakyo Episode 10 (storyboard artist and director et al.), the Null Meta staff includes Tatsuya Takahashi (Reborn as a Vending Machine, Übel Blatt) as series composer and Shin Ogasawara (Pokémon: Twilight Wings, one of Ranking of Kings‘ main animators) as character designer.
Correction: Amended the spelling of Kokamumo’s name.
Correction 2: The article originally described Kurumi as an “idiot.” The term has been removed due to it missing the nuance of the original Japanese term used in the manga’s synopsis.
