Earlier this month, Kyoto-headquartered JB Works, which sells luxury jewellery, bags, and watches, released the animated concept music video “ORBIT.”
Set on an apparent derelict space colony and starring the company’s original PR characters, “ORBIT” was directed by Kabukyuu (“Nisshin Gekko” music video) and has tama and featured artist Mary credited for the song. JB Works says that the work carries the sentiment of reusing branded products.
Kabukyuu, who also handled the storyboards, layouts, backgrounds, compositing, and some of the animation and painting, has made some posts about the video on X/Twitter following its release. In one of these, they revealed that a cut with god rays made use of footage of actual smoke illuminated by a projector.
