Harumaki Gohan has dropped the second episode of Playing Sister (Onee-chan Gokko), their doppelganger-themed anime series about two sisters and a legend in their hometown, on YouTube. English, Korean, and Chinese subtitles are available.

The vocaloid producer, illustrator, and animator previously released a teaser for the episode (titled “Investigation”/“Chousa-hen”) and a music video featuring a character from the show last week.

Playing Sister is tentatively planned to conclude with three episodes, and around a year from Episode 1’s late January release. Its part of a wider project that includes releases of VOCALOID songs. Harumaki Gohan is the director, writer, music composer, sound director, and compositor for the anime, and their Studio Gohan is handling the production.

The synopsis for Playing Sister, which is also released on niconico and bilibili, reads:

“The girl at home with you… isn’t your sister.”

In the distant future, on the outskirts left behind by the rapid concentration of advanced science and technology in urban areas, lies a remote mountain village known as Kagami Village.

“Behave yourself, or a Double will come for you.”

Such old folklore still lingers in this village.

Akane Higure, a middle school student living in Kagami Village, has been eagerly awaiting the return of her older sister, Sui Higure, who is finally being discharged from the hospital after a year.

However, not long after her sister comes home, Akane receives a single phone call.

“The girl at home with you… isn’t your sister.”
