COVER Corp. kicked off the countdown to hololive production’s 10th anniversary on September 7, 2026, with the “hololive Next” broadcast, unveiling a wave of major initiatives — headlined by the long-rumored confirmation that hololive is finally getting a television anime, alongside the debut of a brand-new talent unit.

The biggest reveal was the official confirmation that a TV anime featuring hololive talents is now in production, marking the franchise’s first foray into television animation. The project is currently going by the working title “Odeholo,” with its full title, story details, and cast still under wraps. According to hololive, the anime has been in development for roughly five years.

Studio KAI has been assigned to handle the animation production. Further details — including the official title and premise — are set to be revealed during a dedicated “Odeholo” Information Reveal Program on September 23, 2026, from 20:00 to 21:00 JST on the anime’s official YouTube channel (@odeholo). The special will be hosted by Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio, featuring Momosuzu Nene, Omaru Polka, Yukihana Lamy, and Shishiro Botan.

The agency also confirmed a new talent unit, teased under the name “ASOBI★MAWARI-TAI!” (“Playground Squad”), via an accompanying teaser video titled “Welcome to Our Playground!” that covers hololive’s history while hinting at the new members set to join. Additional information about the incoming talents and the unit’s activities is expected to be announced throughout September, with updates to be posted on the unit’s official X account.

The anime and new unit were the centerpieces of a broader rebrand COVER is calling the “Production Renewal,” rolling out gradually over the year leading up to hololive’s 10th anniversary on September 7, 2027.

Other elements announced include:

  • • “A refreshed hololive logo,” which will be released progressively starting September 7, 2026, across the official website, shops, live shows, and merchandise, while retaining the brand’s signature triangle and blue motif.
  • • “A shift from regional to language-based branding.” hololive will consolidate its region-specific sub-brands (hololive Indonesia, hololive English, hololive DEV_IS, etc.) under a single unified “hololive” banner. Existing YouTube channels and social accounts will remain active, but content will now be organized by the intended audience’s language rather than the talents’ region of origin.
  • • “Visual Updates for talents’ outfits and models.” A new initiative will refresh individual talents’ standard looks to match their current activities, rolling out gradually over several years at a pace of roughly five to eight talents annually. COVER emphasized that the order of updates does not reflect ranking or favoritism. Tokino Sora, a Generation 0 member, has been named as the first talent to receive an update, with her new look set to be unveiled at a dedicated Visual Update Reveal Live.
  • • “A new streaming app, hololive raku.” Designed to enhance talents’ everyday “home streams,” the app introduces upgraded lighting and stage assets (including items from studio streams and “Holoearth”), COVER’s proprietary “holoEmotion” facial expression tech, device-motion tracking for more natural on-screen movement, and interactive viewer features like YouTube-chat-linked mini-games and polls.

COVER Corp. has indicated that further announcements will continue to arrive throughout the 10th anniversary countdown via future “hololive Next” episodes.
