A new look at the distinctive visual sensibilities of upcoming shojo anime Dengeki Daisy has arrived via its first main trailer. The trailer drop was accompanied by the reveal of the show’s January 2027 broadcast start window, a two-consecutive-cour run, a key visual, and more cast reveals.
Joining the cast are Tomokazu Sugita as Soichiro Kurebayashi, the deceased older brother of female lead Teru and a systems engineer; Yuka Terasaki as Riko Onizuka, a counselor at Teru’s school; Setsuji Sato as Masuda, a cafe owner; and Kohei Amasaki as Akira, a mysterious person who seems to be very interested in Teru.
Dengeki Daisy is based on the Shogakukan-published manga by Kyosuke Motomi. Viz Media describes the manga’s synopsis as such:
One day at school, Teru accidentally breaks a window and agrees to pay for it by helping Kurosaki with chores around school. Kurosaki is an impossible taskmaster though, and he also seems to be hiding something important from Teru…
The anime is directed by Sota Ueno (Days With My Stepsister, SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) at Studio DEEN. Other staff members include Sawako Hirabayashi (TsumaSho) as series composer, Ayaka Murakami (Cute High Earth Defense Club Haikara!) as character designer, Mizuki Nakagawa (Victoria of Many Faces) as color designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Mashle: Magic and Muscles) as music composer.
Yoshino Aoyama is playing Teru Kurebayashi, while Taku Yashiro is male lead Tasuku Kurosaki.
The Dengeki Daisy manga began serialization in Betsucomi in 2007 and released its 16th and final volume in 2014.
