A main key visual and trailer have been revealed for the upcoming seventh and final chapter of the Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 anime remake project. The seventh chapter is titled Nijiiro no Rinne and will premiere in Japanese theaters on October 30, 2026.
Nobuteru Yuki (Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 character designs), who is the character designer for Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199, illustrated the main visual of the project’s seventh chapter.
Naomichi Yamato (Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! assistant director) is directing the anime remake project, with Harutoshi Fukui (Space Battleship Yamato 2205, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202) as series composer, co-scriptwriter, and chief director. Studio Mother is handling the animation production, with Satelight providing production assistance.

Nijiiro no Rinne is the seventh chapter in the Space Battleship Yamato 3199 series (also known in Japan as Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL 3199 and Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199). The overall series will have 26 total episodes split into seven chapters for theatrical screening in Japan.
The six previous chapters include Kuro no Shinryaku in July 2024, Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki in November 2024, Gunjo no Asteroid in April 2025, Mizuiro no Sasha in October 2025, Hakunetsu no Ginga Taisen in February 2026, and Aoi Meikyu, which was released this past June.
Space Battleship Yamato 3199 serves as the sequel project to the Uchu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi – Kosho -STASHA- anime film, which was released in Japan in February 2022. The remake anime began with the 2012-2013 Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199.
The original Space Battleship Yamato TV series aired in Japan from 1974 to 1975 and inspired several sequel series and films, including the 1980’s Yamato yo Towa ni film. A new film project from studio khara was announced in October 2024.
Crunchyroll is streaming the episodic version of the theatrical anime series under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 in select territories. Twenty-two episodes have been released on the service so far. It describes the premise as:
In 2207, two years after Gamilas and Iscandar vanished, a colossal object, the “Grand Reverse” appears, effortlessly breaching Earth’s defenses. Swarms of troops and multi-legged tanks swiftly conquer Earth’s capital city. Amidst the chaos, the old Yamato crew receives a secret order and now begins a voyage for unseen dimensions while humanity’s fate hangs in the balance.
