A new trailer, third key visual, theme songs, and two more voice cast members have been unveiled for the upcoming My Girlfriend’s Friend TV anime series, which will begin airing in Japan on October 4, 2026.
The newest key visual is also not safe for work.
The anime’s opening theme is “Gingira” by Japanese three-member music unit Airots, which is spotlighted in the newest trailer, while the ending theme is “False Love” by singer-songwriter Ceui.
In addition, the two new voice cast members include Riho Sugiyama as Miyuki (left) and Ryoka Yuzuki as Kaori’s mother (right). Sugiyama previously voiced Luna Jarashi in The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife, while Yuzuki previously voiced Ino Yamanaka in the Naruto anime series.
They join a main voice cast that has Ryuga Nagaike as Takeru Hidaka, Sayaka Hashi as Kaori Koga, and Miki Hase as Tomoko Yoshioka.
Takashi Ando (My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog) is directing the anime series, with Goko Shiraki (Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun!) as series composer and Ryuji Iwata as character designer. Quad is handling the animation production.
The My Girlfriend’s Friend anime adaptation will be released as part of WWWave Corporation‘s Deregula label. A censored “On-air” version and uncensored “Complete Deregula” version of the series will stream on the AnimeFesta website. The “On-air” version will be broadcast on several Japanese television stations.
The Deregula label has produced several short-form adult anime adaptations such as KAMUI — He’s Behind You and the upcoming I’m Dating a Dark Summoner.
The original manga series by Jyura has been serialized on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web service since May 21, 2021. Seven tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of July 2026. It is known in Japanese as Kanojo no Tomodachi.
My Girlfriend’s Friend centers on a young high schooler named Takeru, who is seduced and tempted by his girlfriend’s friend, Tomoko.
