The official X/Twitter and website of the upcoming two-part Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe theatrical anime has announced its full main voice cast with each of their respective roles. The anime’s first part is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026.
The voice cast for the Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe anime will include:

- • Hochu Otsuka as Vid Hildebrandt
- • Daisuke Ono as Meteusz Julian Podolski
- • Takayuki Sugo as Weisweiler
- • Takahiro Sakurai as Oliver
- • Sumire Uesaka as Maintenance Girl
They join a previously announced voice cast that stars Mabuki Ando as Maki Staufenberg and Miyuki Sawashiro as Ash Vamps.
A short 30-second trailer for the two-part theatrical anime was also released.
Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor the Movie, Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer) is directing the Die Graue Hexe anime, with Kazuchika Kise as original character designer, Kunio Okawara (Armored Trooper Votoms mechanical designer) as original mechanical designer, Shinobu Tsuneki (Tengoku Daimakyo) and Yoshihiro Sono (Urusei Yatsura remake co-mechanical designer) as mechanical designers, and Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell) as music composer. Sunrise is credited with the anime’s planning and production and Production I.G with the production assistance.
Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto, The Sky Crawlers), Takashi Kojima (One Piece Heroines, The Colors Within), and Shingo Ogiso (Blade of the Immortal, The Heroic Legend of Arslan chief character designer) are the character designers for the theatrical anime.
Die Graue Hexe was first revealed in January 2026 and serves as a 50th anniversary commemoration project for Sunrise.
The original Armored Trooper Votoms TV anime series was created and directed by Ryosuke Takahashi (MUTEKING THE Dancing HERO chief director, Gasaraki director, Young Black Jack series composer and supervisor). It debuted in Japan in April 1983 and ran for 52 episodes.
A number of OVAs were released after the TV anime, including 2011’s Armored Trooper Votoms: Chirico’s Return. Armored Trooper Votoms is also considered as a visual influence on the Heavy Gear franchise from Canadian company Dream Pod 9.
The Armored Trooper Votoms TV series followed a soldier named Chirico Cuvie, who is on the run after a mission targeting his side’s allies leads to a betrayal and the discovery that one of the objectives was a woman.
