Jujutsu Kaisen adapts the manga by Gege Akutami, with the seting featuring Jujutsu Sorcerers who battle Cursed Spirits in modern-day Japan. Winter 2026’s Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 saw Yuji and his allies attempting to stop the schemes of the ancient and formidable Kenjaku, with several of them participating in the titular death game-like Culling Game.

The anime’s first season (directed by Sunghoo Park) premiered in 2020 and ended in early 2021 after 24 episodes. It was soon followed by December 2021’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel movie (based on the manga’s four-chapter predecessor). Season 2, directed by Shota Goshozono (who would also direct Season 3), aired later from July 2023 to December 2023, with its  latter “Shibuya Incident Arc” starting a few weeks after the opening “Hidden Inventory Arc.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018, the year after its prequel was serialized, and ended in 2024. A sequel titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo started in September 2025 and ended in March 2026.
