A trailer and visual for The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 have been released. English versions of those were revealed by Netflix, which also announced that the TV anime will debut on the platform on October 1.
The Ramparts of Ice is based on the manga by Kocha Agasawa, whose romantic comedy manga You and I Are Polar Opposites was also adapted into a 2026 anime that is currently in its second season. Netflix’s synopsis for the anime reads:
The story centers around Koyuki Hikawa, a socially withdrawn student who keeps an emotional wall between herself and others. The only person she spends time with is her longtime friend, Miki Azumi. One day, her quiet life is disrupted when a boy named Minato Amamiya inexplicably starts trying to break through her barriers. The aloof Koyuki, the high school idol Miki, the overly familiar Minato and the laid-back basketball player Yota share an awkward, occasionally frustrating, yet wholesome student life.
The Ramparts of Ice manga was serialized from January 2020 to April 2022 via LINE Manga. It received a special award at the 2nd Shueisha Shojo Manga Grand Prix (which has LINE’s involvement) and placed first in Comic Natalie’s Tateyomi Manga Award 2024 in the Completed category.
The first season of the anime began airing on April 2. Season 2 starts its broadcast on October 1 at 11:56 PM JST.
