The first character visual for The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan TV anime has been released. It features Loki Leevahl, who enrolls at the same magic academy as protagonist Alus Reigin as his partner, and her knife-type AWRs (Assist Weapon Recovery).

This look at Loki, a Magicmaster who was with the military since a young age and is devoted to Alus due to him saving her life, was accompanied by the announcement of Yui Ogura as her voice actor.

The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan (Saikyo Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku) is based on the light novels written by Izushiro and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki. J-Novel Club describes the books’ synopsis as such:

In a world where the Fiends run rampant… Magicmaster Alus Reigin, the young prodigy that has defeated more Fiends and reclaimed more of humanity’s lost territory than anyone else alive, requests retirement from military service at age 16. But due to the twists and turns of fate surrounding his status as the No. 1 Magicmaster in the nation—the top Magicmaster out of more than 100,000—he ends up as a student at a special magical institute, hiding his identity and training his successors – a pair of beautiful Magicmaster girls! Not to mention continuing to defeat Fiends in secret… Get ready—the epic adventure of the Greatest Magicmaster Alus Reigin begins now!

The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan was originally a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel. The light novel series, which is published under Hobby Japan’s HJ Bunko label, began in 2017 and has 20 volumes as of 2025. There is a Square Enix-published The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan: Alternative manga, drawn by Karu Yoneshiro, is currently running following a previous, short-lived manga adaptation published by Hobby Japan. Yoneshiro will also draw another manga titled The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan Zero -Hajimari no Hishiroku-, which begins this winter.

The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan will begin airing in 2027.
