Two new voice cast members have been announced for the upcoming Fairy Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo OVA. The latest Minky Momo OVA is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 13, 2026.
The new voice cast additions include Tomohito Takatsuka as Rubato (left) and Yoko Hikasa as Peter (right), who each provide comments on their roles in the visuals below. Takatsuka has voiced Minori Watanabe in The Idolm@ster SideM series, while Hikasa recently voiced Anna-Marie Victirium in Heroine? Saint? No, I’m an All-Works Maid (and Proud of It)!


They join a previously announced voice cast that will star:
- • Kurumi Haruki as Momo/Minky Momo
- • Fukushi Ochiai as Dettabook
- • Natsumi Fujiwara as Chamocha
- • Rie Kugimiya as Pipirupi
Ayumu Watanabe (Summer Time Rendering, Witch Hat Atelier, Akane-Banashi) is directing the new OVA, with Hiroshi Watanabe, who was a key animator and animation director on the original Fairy Princess Minky Momo TV anime and was later involved in character design, storyboarding, and episode direction in future series, as character designer. Other staff include Mari Tominaga (Maho no Princess Minky Momo Yume o Dakishimete sub-character designer) as the OVA’s other character designer, and Deko Akao (Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days, May I Ask for One Final Thing? series composer) as scriptwriter. Studio Live is credited with design cooperation and Ashi Productions is in charge of the animation production.
Fairy Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo is the first new OVA in the Minky Momo franchise since 1994’s Minky Momo in Tabidachi no Eki, and is the 50th anniversary project of Ashi Productions. A Minky Momo revival was previously announced in 2009.

The original Fairy Princess Minky Momo (known in Japan as Maho no Princess Minky Momo) TV anime series aired in Japan between 1982 to 1983 with a total of 63 episodes. The series spawned several OVAs throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, including 1985’s Maho no Princess Minky Momo Yume no Naka no Rinbu, 1993’s Minky Momo in Yume ni Kakeru Hashi, and 1994’s Minky Momo in Tabidachi no Eki. Another TV series titled Maho no Princess Minky Momo Yume o Dakishimete was released in 1991.
The series also inspired a manga by Yamabe Yoshina that was published between 2004 to 2005.
The 1982 Fairy Princess Minky Momo TV anime had Kunihiko Yuyama (The Strongest King Encyclopedia ~The Ultimate Tournament~ and To Be a Pokémon Master: Ultimate Journeys: The Series, Pokémon: The First Movie director) as chief director. with the late Takeshi Shudo (Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution and Pokémon: The First Movie scriptwriter) as series composer. Shudo passed away in 2010, which was a year after the series’ revival was first announced.
