Crunchyroll has announced the acquisition and North American theatrical dates for upcoming The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE -Yotsuba Succession Arc- anime film. It premiered in Japanese theaters earlier this year on May 8, 2026.
Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will screen the anime film in the U.S. and Canada for three days on November 1, 3, and 4, 2026. It will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and in English dub.
Jimmy Stone (The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 and The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc, The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc assistant director) directed the Yotsuba Succession Arc anime film, with Kana Ishida (The Irregular at Magic High School series) as character designer and Taku Iwasaki (The Irregular at Magic High School series) as music composer. Eight Bit handled the animation production.

The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc centers on Miyuki Shiba being summoned to a gathering that will decide the next Yotsuba Clan head. It is the second theatrical film in the The Irregular at Magic High School anime series, which began in 2014 with a Madhouse-produced TV anime series.
After the first season, Eight Bit became the animation production studio for the mainline anime entries and produced the 2017 The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars, the 2020 The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc (2020), the 2021 The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc, and the 2024 The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3. A “Part 2” continuation of the anime series was announced in June 2026.
The anime adaptation of The Honor Student at Magic High School, one of the franchise’s spin-off titles, was produced by Connect and released in 2021.
The light novel series is written by Tsutomu Sato and illustrated by Kana Ishida. It was first published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint on July 10, 2011 and ended on September 10, 2020. A total of 32 volumes were published in Japan in September 2020. The series was originally a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel that was released between October 2008 to March 2011.
A sequel series from Sato and Ishida began in October 2020 and has released 11 volumes as of March 2026.
