The official X/Twitter account and website of the ongoing The Villager of Level 999 TV anime series has announced the addition of two new voice cast members. The anime began airing in Japan on July 1, 2026.
The new cast members include Yoji Ueda, who voices Rago in Black Torch, as Militaria Remote and Tetsu Inada, who voices the Landlord in Chainsmoker Cat, as Dark Dragon. Both characters appear in the show’s eighth episode, which has already been released on some streaming services like Crunchyroll.
Yoshinobu Kasai (180-Byo de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka?) is directing the anime series, with Shinzo Fujita (To Your Eternity) as series composer and Kentaro Matsumoto as character designer. Brain’s Base is handling the animation production.
The fantasy light novel series is written by Koneko Hoshitsuki and illustrated by Fumi. It was first published by Kadokawa on April 30, 2016 and ended on January 25, 2019. Eight volumes were published in Japan in total. The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro that was published from July 2015 to December 2018.
An ongoing manga adaptation by Kenichi Iwamoto was first launched in May 2017. It is available in English digitally on Kadokawa’s BookWalker service and MangaPlaza under the English title The Level 999 Villager.
