A new trailer and two new voice cast members has been revealed for the currently airing second season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Ⅱ. Season two began broadcasting in Japan on July 8, 2026.
The two new cast members consist of Kensho Ono as Warren Flumvelk and Sumire Uesaka as Shueste Flumvelk. Ono is voicing Yuru in Daemons of the Shadow Realm, while Uesaka is voicing Hahari Hanazono once again in the third season of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. Their characters are also previewed in the latest trailer.

Akio Kazumi (Fist of the Blue Sky Re: Genesis) is directing the second season, with Kunihiko Okada (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy) as series composer, Satsuki Hayasaka (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy co-character designer) as character designer and chief animation director, and Nozomu Koga (new) and Masaru Kawashima (new) as assistant directors. Passione and Hayabusa Film are in charge of the animation production.
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Ⅱ is exclusively streaming on Prime Video worldwide in select countries and territories. The first season premiered on April 6, 2025 and ran for 12 episodes until June 22, 2025.
The second season’s premise is described as:
Beryl Gardenant is a middle-aged swordsman instructor. Now, he is serving as a special instructor for the Knightly Order and a guardian to orphans, He has gradually settled into life in the capital. Yet, the world around him refused to grant Beryl any peace.
As a swordsman, as a man, Beryl faces a new battle he cannot avoid.
The fantasy light novel series is written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. It was first published by Square Enix’s SQUEX Novel imprint on April 7, 2021, with 11 volumes being released in Japan as of August 2026. The series began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in November 2020. J-Novel Club licensed the light novels for English digital release.
A manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato was launched in Akita Shoten’s web magazine Dokodemo Young Champion on August 24, 2021. Nine tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of June 2026. Yen Press releases the manga in English for North America. WEBTOON released its own version of the manga in May 2025.
Two manga spinoff series were also released in November 2024 and February 2025.
