The official X/Twitter account of the upcoming Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! TV anime series has revealed its newest character visual and trailer confirming the cast addition of Yumi Uchiyama. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in October 2026.
Uchiyama will voice the homeroom teacher Satomi Hiratsuka. She has previously voiced Rudeus Greyrat in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Eren Yamagishi in Eren the Southpaw.
She joins a previously announced voice cast that include:
- • Shogo Sakata as Ume Mizunoe
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Hisako Kotobuki
- • Miyu Tomita as Komaro Michinoku
- • Hiyori Kono as Tan Otori
The four cast members listed above also received character trailers and visuals in the past few weeks.
Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! animated PV chief director, Nisekoi) is directing the anime series, with Ryo Imamura (PV storyboard artist, unit director, character designer et al., Onimai character designer et al.,) as character designer and Masahiro Yokotani (Re: ZERO series composer and co-scriptwriter) as series composer and scriptwriter. Passione is in charge of the animation production.
The slice of life 4-koma manga series is written and drawn by Muchimaro. It was first serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on April 27, 2022 and has released 12 tankobon volumes as of March 2026. A 13th volume will be published in Japan on August 17, 2026. It is also available to read digitally in English on the K MANGA app.
The series was the winner of the Next Manga Awards 2023’s print manga category. It is also known in Japan as Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru! or There Is Also a Hole in the Student Organization!
An animated trailer of the Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! manga series was released in July 2024, which became the Shonen Magazine YouTube channel’s most popular video, amassing over 4.6 million views as of the time of writing.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English print release, describing the synopsis as:
In a student council filled with weirdos, one new member is about to have a hell of a school year!
Mizunoe Ume just wanted to avoid repeating a grade when he joined the student council. After all, it seemed like an easy fix to his current academic problems. But then, he met his fellow council members. Each of them is eccentric in their own way—one’s an airhead, another’s scary, one’s secretly a pervert, but all in all, they’re just really weird! Yet somehow, they’re also oddly cute and endearing. Which means Mizunoe is stuck with them and all the chaos they bring to the table.
