The official Japanese X/Twitter account and website of the Star Wars franchise has unveiled the voice cast for the upcoming Star Wars: Visions – The Ninth Jedi spinoff anime series. The series will begin streaming on Disney+ and Hulu on August 5, 2026.
Chinatsu Akasaki reprises her role as the protagonist Lah Kara (pictured left below), having previously voiced her in “The Ninth Jedi” episode of Star Wars: Visions Volume 1 and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” in Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
She is joined by the following cast members that are voicing new characters in the series:
- • Nao Omori as Nawaam (pictured right above)
- • Hiroshi Naka as Dunbay
- • Maaya Sakamoto as Tahoola
- • Nobuyuki Hiyama as Kwana
- • Cho as Gramps
Additionally, the returning cast members from “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” include:
- • Tetsuo Kanao as Juro
- • Shinichiro Miki as Lah Zhima
- • Hiromu Mineta as Ethan
- • Hinata Tadokoro as Homen
- • Hiroki Takahashi as Jedi Hunter
- • Akio Otsuka as Narrator
Kenji Kamiyama, who wrote, storyboarded, and directed “The Ninth Jedi” episode, is serving as chief director and series composer for the Star Wars: Visions – The Ninth Jedi series, while Shunsuke Tada (Starmyu, Noblesse, Opus Colors) is the director. Production I.G. is in charge of the animation production once again after being credited with work on the two previous Star Wars: Visions episodes.
“The Ninth Jedi” was released with the 2021 first season of the Star Wars: Visions anthology series. A follow-up episode titled “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” was released as part of Volume 3 in 2025 and was directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani.
Star Wars Visions: Volume 1‘s “The Ninth Jedi” episode centers on Lah Kara — a lightsaber maker’s daughter whose creations change color depending on the user. She is tasked with delivering the lightsabers to the Margrave Juro in hopes of bringing back the Jedi at a time of war.
