Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled Gundam: Rogue Orbit, a new Gundam action game that seems to pit players against a mechanical alien threat, as part of Summer Game Fest 2026. It’s coming out in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
The cinematic portion of the announcement trailer features a Gundam taking on a massive dragon-like mechanical entity in close combat, while the gameplay sneak peek near the end shows other varieties of monsters, both similar and larger in size than the mobile suit. It also comes with a track by Mick Gordon of Doom reboot fame.
“In GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, players will suit up as ace pilot RE-X, the protagonist in this new chapter for Gundam,” says the announcement post. “Step into the cockpit of Gundam Helix, RE-X’s high-mobility suit, so he along with a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers, can fight to be humanity’s last hope for survival against this unknown enemy. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will feature explosive fast-paced battles set in sprawling environments, with players taking on enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges, set against an engaging Sci-Fi backdrop. For Gundam fans, the title promises to deliver the emotionally charged moments and unforgettable action that have made the series one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises while also introducing a thrilling new direction for Gundam.”
Bandai Namco Studios Inc. is developing the game.
