The Art of Manga exhibition will be making its East coast debut at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City from October 3, 2026 to January 31, 2027. The announcement was first made late this past April.
The exhibition will be located on the first floor in the Brooklyn Museum’s Great Hall gallery area.
Brooklyn Museum’s Art of Manga exhibition will showcase more than 600 drawings from several manga artists, some of which include:

- • Jiro Taniguchi
- • Kazumi Yamashita
- • Mari Yamazaki

- • Tetsuya Chiba
- • Fujio Akatsuka
- • Tadashi Agi
- • Shu Okimoto
- • Junji Ito
- • Miki Tori
The exhibition includes a section introducing visitors to the manga medium, with particular focus given to Tetsuya Chiba and Fujio Akatsuka, which is then followed by individual sections showcasing the works of eight manga artists. Afterwards, a final section will highlight numerous Shuiesha manga art prints from series like Oda’s One Piece, Ikeda’s Rose of Versailles, and Kubo’s Bleach, along with a selection from artist Keiichi Tanaami’s collaboration with Akatsuka.
The Art of Manga exhibition is organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. It was previously hosted at the de Young museum in San Francisco, California from September 27, 2025 to January 25, 2026.
