A second season of The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World TV anime is set to begin airing this October. A teaser visual was released with the news.
Masahiro Takata is returning to direct and serve as series composer and audio director. This time, Zero-G is the animation production studio, replacing the now-defunct Cloudhearts (which had production assistance from Yokohama Animation Lab). Mariko Kawamoto (Magica Wars) is handling the character designs for Season 2 instead of Makoto Shimojima.
The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World is based on the Kodansha-published light novels written by Nana Mikoshiba and illustrated by Riko Korie. The premise sees protagonist Ray White enrolling at the Arnold Academy of Magic while hiding his identity as the titular Iceblade Sorcerer.
The light novel series, which is published under the Kodansha Lanove Bunko label/imprint, began in 2020 and will release its ninth volume on June 2, 2026 in Japan. A manga by Sasaki Nobuhito started in 2020 and released its 14th and final volume in 2024.
The anime credits for The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World Season 2 list a sequel manga from Nao Kagami (with composition by Ishiya Ogane) with Nichiyobi no Sirius as the serialization platform..
The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World‘s first season aired in 2021.
