Bandai Namco Filmworks has revealed the latest trailer for the ongoing second season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword. The second season premiered in Japan on April 12, 2026.
The new trailer previews the second season’s next story arc, highlighting Will and his friends during the Terminalia festival. The new arc will begin with the sixth episode (18th episode overall in the series), which will air in Japan on May 17, 2026.
Tatsuya Yoshihara (previously director for Season 1) is serving as the chief director for the second season, with Hideaki Nakano (new, Devils’ Line) as director, Sayaka Ono (reprising) as character designer and chief animation director, and Yuki Hayashi (reprising) as music composer. BN Pictures and ACTAS (both returning, but with reversed credit order) are in charge of the animation production.

The first season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword aired in July 2024 and ended in September 2024. It ran for one cour containing 12 total episodes.
The adventure fantasy manga series is written by Danmachi light novel author Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on December 9, 2020. Fifteen tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of April 2026. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release in 2021.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword in select countries and territories worldwide and is also simulcasting the second season. It describes the main premise of the first season as:
A hard-working boy named Will enters a magic academy in hopes of becoming a great sorcerer. Unfortunately, there’s a fatal flaw in his plan: he lacks the ability to use magic. Amid the cold stares of his classmates and instructors, Will feels discouraged at times, but he presses forward with unwavering determination. He can’t use a wand, but he can wield a sword in his battle to reach the top of a magic-dominated world.
