The opening animation for the Gakuen Idolmaster mobile game’s upcoming “H.I.F [Hatsuboshi IDOL FESTIVAL] Arc” has been released on YouTube. The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity director Miyuki Kuroki is credited with the direction, storyboards, and unit direction, while CloverWorks is the animation production studio.

Satoshi Yamaguchi handled the character designs and animation direction, while other staff include Yuichi Oka (Spy x Family Season 3 OP) as animation training director, Yuya Sakuma (7FATES: CHAKHO short film, Bocchi the Rock! live lighting director) as technical director, Asuka Yokota (Horimiya) as color designer, Asuka Koki (The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity) as background art director, and Aya Hashimoto (The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity assistant compositing director) as compositing director.

“H.I.F” kicks off “sequentially” this month, which marks the second anniversary of Gakuen Idolmaster, and will bring a new scenario and produce mode to the deck-building roguelite, idol raising simulator. The scenario requires an idol with a bond level of at least 27.

Gakuen Idolmaster is set in the Hatsuboshi Gakuen idol training school and is part of Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s The Idolmaster multimedia franchise. The QualiArts-developed game is currently available on iOS, Android, and PC (via DMM Games) in Japanese.

August 26 will see the release of the 3rd Singles for characters Sena Juo, Saki Hanami, Ume Hanami, and Misuzu Hataya. The 3rd Single releases feature solo songs from the STEP3 scenario.

Gakuen Idolmaster‘s music channel, Hatsuboshi Gakuen, recently uploaded a Riri Yamashita-directed music video for the song “Campus mode!!”
