Steins;Gate Re:Boot is advertised as having “fully updated visuals, UI, and an all-new story that breathes new life into the streets of Akihabara.” Its scenario is based on 2018’s Steins;Gate Elite, a remaster of the original Steins;Gate that has footage from the Steins;Gate TV anime adaptation and new animation sequences. The remake was previously scheduled for a 2025 release.

The synopsis on Steam reads:

STEINS;GATE follows a ragtag group of tech-savvy students led by Rintaro Okabe, whose latest invention accidentally gains the ability to send messages to the past, unleashing the power to alter history itself.

As global conspiracies stir and timelines begin to twist, the curtain rises on a future steeped in chaos.

Steins;Gate was first released on Xbox 360 in October 2009. It was developed by 5pb., which merged with AG-ONE to become current developer MAGES in 2011. It has a midquel titled Steins;Gate 0 that inspired its own anime and a number of spin-offs.

Steins;Gate is part of the wider Science Adventure series that includes titles like Chaos;HeadRobotics;Notes, Chaos;ChildOccultic;Nine, and Anonymous;Code.
