Netflix has unveiled a new visual and trailer for the upcoming second season of Devil May Cry, which will debut on the streaming service on May 12, 2026.
A second season for the animated series was first announced last April as the eight-episode first season premiered on April 3, 2025.
A teaser trailer for the second season was released late last March.
The new series is inspired by CAPCOM’s popular hack-and-slash game series of the same name. Adi Shankar (2017 Castlevania animated series showrunner) is credited as the series’ showrunner, executive producer, and creator, with Studio Mir handling the animation production.
The English voice cast for the Devil May Cry animated series includes:
- • Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante (previously voiced Nero in Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5)
- • Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary
- • Hoon Lee as White Rabbit
- • Kevin Conroy as William Baines
- • Chris Coppola as Enzo
- • Robbie Daymond as Vergil
The Japanese dub voice cast includes Toshiyuki Morikawa as Dante, Fumiko Orikasa as Mary, and Hiroaki Hirata as Vergil.
The first Devil May Cry video game was released in 2001 as a PS2 title (which has since been ported to other platforms). The most recent console entry was 2019’s Devil May Cry 5, which was released on the PS4, Xbox One, and Steam (a Special Edition was later released for current-gen consoles in 2020). In addition to the numbered entries, a reboot by Ninja Theory was released in 2013.
The Devil May Cry franchise previously inspired a 2007 TV anime series produced by Madhouse and directed by Shin Itagaki (With You, Our Love Will Make It Through co-director, So I’m a Spider, So What?).
Netflix describes the main premise of Devil May Cry as:
In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
