The official Twitter/X of the upcoming Inherit the Winds TV anime series have announced the addition of two new cast members. A premiere date for the anime has yet to be announced.
The new cast members include Koki Uchiyama as Hijikata Toshizo and Yuichi Nakamura as Kondo Isami.
They join a previously announced voice cast that consists of Snow Man J-pop boy group member Daisuke Sakuma as Jinsuke Tachikawa, Yuki Kaji as Soji Okita, and Aoi Yuki as Koganei Hyogo.
Inherit the Winds was first announced at Aniplex Online Fest in September 2025. Tomohiro Kawamura (Air Bound) is directing the anime series. The story is inspired by the Jinsuke Tachikawa stage play series by Yutaka Narui, who is also in charge of writing the scripts for the show. The series will be co-produced by Live2D Creative Studio and Drive.
A four-panel manga adaptation by Matsuri Muramatsu will also be released later this year.
The anime will follow Jinsuke Tachikawa, an amnesiac in the third year of the Bunkyu era, whose reclamation of his memories has large consequences during a time of unrest in Japan.
