Three more cast members have been announced for the upcoming Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary TV anime series. The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan on January 12, 2026.
The three new cast members (from left to right) include Misaki Kuno as Saku-chan, Mutsumi Tamura as Kenken, and Chiemi Tanaka as Yuzu-chan.

They join a previously announced voice cast that stars:

- • Maaya Uchida as Chie-sensei
- • Yuki Kaji as Namu
- • Fukushi Ochiai as Mobuo
- • Azusa Tadokoro as Akira-sensei
- • Shiori Izawa as Chihiro-sensei
- • Toshiyuki Morikawa as Kaya-Papa/Shizuo Sato
- • Mamiko Noto as Kaya-Mama/Mirai Sato
- • Haruka Tomatsu as Nana Ebisumori
- • Yoshiko Sakakibara as Mutsu Ebisumori
Ikehata Hiroshi (Witch Watch, Dark Gathering) is directing the anime series, with Shigeru Murakoshi (Apocalypse Hotel) as series composer, Taro Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi (The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World) as character designers, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan Final Season co-composer) and Shun Narita (Ubel Blatt) as music composers. East Fish Studio is in charge of the animation production.
The horror manga series by Yuritaro began serialization on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website on April 1, 2022 and has released seven volumes as of June 2025. An eighth volume will be released in Japan on January 8, 2026. The manga is also known in Japan as Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English release, describing the main premise as:
Kaya-chan is a notorious problem child in her kindergarten, but none of the adults know her secret–till Chie-sensei is put in charge and learns of Kaya-chan’s hidden ability to see evil spirits and vanquish them with a punch! What will happen to this five-year-old who gets in trouble when she’s only trying to help?
