Another Death Stranding anime has been announced. Featuring the working title Death Stranding Isolations, this one is a series that will stream on Disney+ in 2027.
Here’s the premise’s description:
Somewhere in North America, just as Sam Bridges walks through the continent in order to save America, the someones are also trying to deal with their isolation in their own way. An old man trying to realize salvation through ways outside of the connection advocated by Bridges. A female warrior who tries to kickstart a world of constant fighting. A boy with a grudge against Bridges. A girl who embraces loneliness.
On the precipice of the end of humanity and the world, their fates and hopes converge, as another story of Death Stranding begins.
And now, comes another explosion…
Takuyuki Sano (Bullet/Bullet co-main animator) is directing the anime at E&H production, with illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov serving as original character designer. Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima is attached as executive producer.
September saw the announcement of Death Stranding Mosquito (working title), an anime film with a protagonist with an inky, gooey mask that seems to be alive. It’s part of the “franchise expansion” plans for the Death Stranding IP.
The first Death Stranding game was first released in 2019 as the debut title of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Steam describes the premise of the open-world action-adventure as such:
In the future, a mysterious event known as the Death Stranding has opened a doorway between the living and the dead, leading to grotesque creatures from the afterlife roaming the fallen world marred by a desolate society.
As Sam Bridges, your mission is to deliver hope to humanity by connecting the last survivors of a decimated America.
Can you reunite the shattered world, one step at a time?
Death Stranding first launched as PS4 exclusive before getting released on PC, the App Store, and Xbox Series X/S. It received a sequel titled Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on June 26, 2025.
