A new teaser visual, main cast members, and staff have been revealed for the upcoming Yowayowa Teacher TV anime series, which will premiere in April 2026.
The anime’s main voice cast will star Marika Kono as Hiyori Hiwamura (left below) and Kakeru Hatano as Akihito Abikura (right below).
Hiroshi Ishiodori (Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole) is directing the anime series, with Yoshifumi Fukushima (Gunparade Orchestra) as series composer, Naoki Aisaka (Hero Tales chief animation director) as character designer, Akifumi Tada (Skip Beat!) and Rina Tayama (Vampire Dormitory) as music composers. Brain’s Base is in charge of the animation production.
The original romantic comedy manga series by Kamio Fukuchi started serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on November 16, 2022 and has released 14 tankobon volumes as of September 2025. A 15th volume will be published in Japan on November 17, 2025.
Yowayowa Teacher centers on a second-year high schooler, Akihito Abikura, and his homeroom teacher, Hiyori Hiwamura. Hiyori has a reputation for being a fierce instructor, but Akihito accidentally discovers that she has another side to her public image.
