Light novels from Yen Press‘ Yen On imprint have begun to make their way to Tapas, the webcomic and novel platform that hosts titles like The Beginning After the End (Yen Press publishes the comic in print), Solo Leveling, and The Dragon Slayer’s Regression on Another Level, as part of a new partnership.
Like other Tapas titles, the Yen On light novels will be split into “episodes.” The first five will be free, and the rest can be accessed immediately with payment or later for free readers. Yen Press says that new episodes will be released daily after a title’s release.
As for the rate of new title additions, expect them to come every month. It’s unclear how many will arrive with each new wave.

Among the first wave of Yen On arrivals are The Eminence in Shadow, Overlord, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, The Summer Hikaru Died, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Currently, Tapas has these highlighted in an event titled Mega Hit Light Novels Festival, and they’ve also taken the top of the site’s novel rankings when ranked by popularity. The adaptation of Mokumokuren‘s The Summer Hikaru Died manga, perhaps buoyed by the recent TV anime adaptation, sits at number one.
Yen Press President Kurt Hassler, in a prepared statement, called the partnership “an opportunity that lets some of our biggest properties find new readers who already love and use the Tapas site, while preexisting fans of these series gain another accessible way to read their favorite titles and discover new ones as well.”
