The long-running anime adaptation of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year after the premiere of its first season in April 2015. A special 7-minute video and visual have been released to commemorate the anniversary.
The new video traces back the journey of Bell Cranel throughout the anime’s five seasons and the Arrow of the Orion anime film. It also features all the main opening theme songs from the show’s past seasons.
Additionally, an event to celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary titled “DANMACHI 10th Anniversary Special Event ‘Aedes Vesta – Seika no Kiseki’” will be held at the Makuhari International Training Center Symposium Hall in Chiba on February 7, 2026. The main voice cast members and theme song artists of the series will appear and participate in various live discussions, readings, and live performances.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is based on the fantasy light novel series written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yamada. It was first published by SB Creative’s GA Bunko imprint on January 15, 2013 and has released 20 volumes as of December 2024. The 21st volume will mark the start of the final arc and is scheduled for release in Japan on October 11, 2025. Yen Press publishes the light novels and manga in English, which is also known by its shortened title, DanMachi.
Aside from the main light novel series, the series has also inspired several spin-offs, manga, mobile games, and the Arrow of the Orion film. The Sword Oratoria spin-off light novel series inspired a 2017 TV anime adaptation.
The first season of the main Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? anime series premiered in 2015, with season two airing in 2019, season three in 2020, and season four between 2022 and 2023. The most recent fifth season was released between 2024 and 2025, with the last four episodes airing between February 2025 and March 2025 after some production delays.
