A new trailer has been released for the third season of SPY X FAMILY, which showcases Loid Forger’s childhood past before he became known as the spy, Twilight. Season three first began broadcasting in Japan on October 4, 2025 and will begin the “Loid Forger: Past Arc” with the 39th episode (second overall in the third season), which will air on October 11, 2025.
The new English-subtitled trailer features the third season’s main opening theme “Protect the Light” by Japanese rock band Spitz.
Additionally, a new episode visual was released for season three’s first episode “Berlint Panic / The Informant and Nightfall,” which features all four members of the Forger family.
The returning staff for the third season of SPY X FAMILY include Yukiko Imai (storyboard artist and director for Season 1 Episode 8 and 20, Season 2 Episode 2) as director, Rino Yamazaki (The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity) as series screenwriter, and Kazuaki Shimada as character designer. WIT Studio and Cloverworks are handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast stars:

The first season of SPY x FAMILY premiered in April 2022 and ran for two split cours, while the second season premiered in October 2023 and ran for one cour. An anime film titled SPY X FAMILY: Code: White was released in late 2023. Crunchyroll is streaming season three like it did for the previous two seasons.
The anime is based on the spy action comedy manga by Tatsuya Endo, which began serialization on Shonen Jump+ on March 25, 2019. Fifteen tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2025, with a 16th volume expected to be released in Japan on October 3, 2025.
Viz Media releases the SPY x FAMILY manga in English, and describes the main premise as:
Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!
