Crossed Hearts announced this week that it has licensed the South Korean romance fantasy novel series Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion. The publisher will release the novels in English starting in Spring 2026.

The original web novel was written by Milchan and serialized on KakaoPage, starting on September 19, 2016 and concluding on January 4, 2017. Three main volumes and a side story volume were published as of August 2018. Tappytoon previously published chapters of the web novel in English on its platform under the title The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion.
The web novel later inspired a manhwa webtoon series, illustrated by Whale, on KakaoPage from September 3, 2017 to March 22, 2021. The Japanese version of the webtoon was serialized on Piccoma from 2018 to 2021, with Kadokawa Shoten releasing the series in print. Nine volumes of the webtoon series were published as of August 2023. The webtoon was also released digitally in English on Tappytoon.
The series inspired a 12-episode TV anime adaptation in 2023 from Typhoon Graphics, which was streamed on Crunchyroll worldwide. A video game was also released on Steam in 2021.

Yen Press releases the Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion manhwa adaptation in English print, describing the main synopsis of the first volume as:
Eunha Park thought she was getting another chance at life when she awoke in the world of a novel. The only problem? Raeliana McMillan, the character she was reborn as, is fated to be killed by her fiancé! For the sake of her survival, she comes up with an idea — get into a fake marriage with a man more powerful than her groom-to-be. But when that protection comes in the form of Noah Wynknight, the duke with a warm smile and cold heart, Raeliana realizes she might be a bit in over her head… She’s going to regret this plan, isn’t she?
