MARRIAGETOXIN Manga Gets 2026 TV Anime from BONES Film, Carole & Tuesday Director featured image

The MARRIAGETOXIN manga, about a hitman and marriage swindler duo who team up to find a bride for the former, is getting a TV anime that will debut in 2026.

A teaser trailer and visual highlight the above-mentioned duo, with the former also teasing the hitman’s proficiency in poison. The voicework is being done by Haruki Ishiya (as hitman Hikaru Gero) and Shion Wakayama (as marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki).

As for the production credits, MARRIAGETOXIN has BONES Film as the animation production studio with Motonobu Hori (Metallic Rouge, Super CrooksCarole & Tuesday) as its director. Also part of the crew are:

• Series composer and scriptwriter: Kimiko Ueno (Ranma ½ remake series composer and co-scriptwriter, the upcoming Sanda)
• Character designer and chief animation director: Kohei Tokuoka (The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity)
• Music composer: Taisei Iwasaki (Metallic RougeBlood Blockade Battlefront

• Music composer: yuma yamaguchi (Undead Murder Farce, the upcoming Goodbye, Lara)

The MARRIAGETOXIN manga comes from Joumyakyu (story) and Mizuki Yoda (art). Regarding the why of Hikaru and Mei’s team-up, the former is the heir to the Poison Masters Clan, and while marriage and love is not really his thing, he commits to finding a bride so that his sister won’t be forced to produce the next heir. Mei starts off as Hikaru’s current assassination mark, before events lead to their cooperation.

The manga debuted in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump + in 2022 and has 14 volumes as of August 2025. It placed 8th in the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022’s web category. It’s available to read in English on Manga Plus.
